Medicare Supplement Video Transcript
Let's walk through the process of reviewing and purchasing Medicare Supplement plans on Plan Prescriber.
To get started from the home page, make your insurance selection by clicking the "Medicare Supplement" button. Enter your zip code, and then click "Compare Rates".
Or, from the Medicare Supplement page, enter your contact information.
On the next page, you can refine your zip code if necessary, and then click the "Find Your Medigap Plan Type" button.
On the next page you'll be asked to enter your gender, birth date and whether you are a smoker. We need this information because plans can vary based on this information. If you like, you may enter your birth date using the numeric keypad. Then click "Next".
Starting in 2010, there are 10 different Medicare Supplement plan types, each designated by a letter, for every state except Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Wisconsin which have state-specific plans. These plans differ in benefits as well as costs. Click here for a comparison chart of the 10 plans. Close, when done.
Once you've decided on a specific plan, click the plan letter to display plans for your area.
The next page displays those plans available for you based on the information you entered. They're listed in order of premium price – from least to most expensive. Make sure to scroll down here, to see all the plans in your area.
If you need help at any point in the process, you can speak directly with a licensed agent by dialing this number.
Or, click the "Contact" button to have a licensed representative reach out to you to discuss plan options and prices.
